Composition:
Active ingredient: Retinol (Vitamin A)
1 ml of solution contains retinol (as retinol acetate) – 34.4 mg (100,000 IU Vitamin A) – approximately 18–20 drops
1 drop contains approximately 5,000 IU of Vitamin A
Excipients: Soybean oil
Indications:
Vitamin A deficiency and hypovitaminosis A; eye diseases: pigmentary retinitis, xerophthalmia, hemeralopia (night blindness), superficial keratitis, corneal damage, conjunctivitis, pyoderma, eczematous lesions of the eyelids; as part of complex therapy for rickets; acute respiratory diseases occurring with exudative diathesis; acute and chronic bronchopulmonary diseases; hypotrophy; collagenoses; skin pathological conditions (frostbite, burns, wounds, ichthyosis, follicular dyskeratosis, senile keratosis, cutaneous tuberculosis, certain forms of eczema, psoriasis); inflammatory and ulcerative-erosive intestinal lesions; liver cirrhosis; chronic gastritis; prevention of urinary tract stone formation.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to any component of the product; acute and chronic nephritis; decompensated heart failure; gallstone disease; chronic pancreatitis; hypervitaminosis A; retinoid overdose; hyperlipidemia; obesity; chronic alcoholism.
Special Warnings and Precautions:
Use under medical supervision. During long-term use of retinol acetate, biochemical parameters and blood clotting time should be monitored. For the treatment of night blindness, it should be used together with riboflavin and nicotinic acid. Use with caution in severe hepatobiliary disorders and in diseases accompanied by coagulation disorders. Not recommended during long-term tetracycline therapy. Retinol should be taken 1 hour before or 4–6 hours after cholestyramine administration. The product accumulates in the body and has prolonged effects. Women who have taken high doses of retinol are advised to plan pregnancy no earlier than 6–12 months after discontinuation due to the risk of fetal developmental abnormalities associated with high Vitamin A levels. Adequate dietary fat intake is necessary for proper Vitamin A absorption. Excessive alcohol and tobacco use impair gastrointestinal absorption. Contains soybean oil. Patients allergic to peanuts or soy should not use this product.
Use During Pregnancy and Lactation:
Due to the high dose of Vitamin A in this formulation, oral use is contraindicated during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Dosage and Administration:
Retinol acetate is taken orally, 10–15 minutes after meals.
Storage Conditions:
Store in the original packaging at a temperature not exceeding 25°C. Keep out of reach of children.
